The Number Five
The number 5 symbolizes God’s grace towards humans. In the New Testament, there are five offices that are available to the Church for the perfecting of the saints [Ephesians 4:11-13]. These offices are often likened to human hand. Whereas the thumb represents the office of the Apostle, which is separated from the other four fingers. Notably, the LORD only acknowledges 12 apostles [Revelation 21:14], wherein Judas Iscariot was replaced by Paul, who wrote most of the epistles. The work of these 12 apostles remain with us today in the New Testament, which remains alive or quick [Hebrews 4:12]. The index finger is associated with the office of the Prophet as they point the direction in which believers and the Church should go. The office of the Evangelist is the middle finger, as it has the longest reach and is associated with reaching lost souls for the LORD. The wedding ring finger is associated with the Pastor, who takes care of the sheep and protects them for the LORD. The smallest finger is associated with the Teacher, who is able to go into the smallest areas and remove unwanted material from the Body of Christ.
Further, the name John is the English form of Iohannes, the Latin form of the Greek name Ἰωάννης (Ioannes), itself derived from the Hebrew name יוֹחָנָן (Yoḥanan). It means “Yahweh is gracious”, from the roots יוֹ (yo) referring to the Hebrew God and חָנַן (ḥanan) meaning “to be gracious”. The Hebrew form occurs in the Old Testament (spelled Johanan or Jehohanan in the English version), but this name owes its popularity to two New Testament characters, both highly revered saints. The first is John the Baptist, a Jewish ascetic who is considered the forerunner of Jesus. He baptized Jesus and was later executed by Herod Antipas. The second is the Apostle John, who is traditionally regarded as the author of the fourth gospel and Revelation. With the Apostles Peter and James (John’s brother), he was part of the inner circle of Jesus. Interestingly enough, the Apostle John wrote five books in the New Testament revealing the Grace of God. These are the Gospel of John, his 3 epistles ( 1 John, 2 John and 3 John), and the Book of Revelation.
In the Old Testament, the LORD revealed His Law to man through the five books that were given to Moses. Collectively these five books are know are the Pentateuch (“Penta” means five), and are Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy. ) Learn more on the number five.
Design
The curriculum contained mirrors the overall design of the New Testament. In that it begins with a “Gospel”, that is the Gospel of Perfection. In the New Testament there are four Gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. These four Gospels each focus on a different dimension of the life and ministry of our LORD Jesus Christ. These dimensions are reflected in the faces of the four living creatures [Revelation 4:7]. The first creature had the face of a lion, this denotes kingship, the Gospel of Matthew shows the dimension of Jesus the King [Matthew 2:2/Matthew 27:37]. The second creature had the face of a calf, this denotes servant-hood, the Gospel of Mark shows the dimension of Jesus the Servant [Mark 10:43-45]. The third creature had the face of a man, this denotes Jesus as the Son of Man which is the main theme of the Gospel of Luke [Luke 5:24/Luke 6:5]. Lastly, the fourth creature had the face of an eagle, this denotes divinity and the Gospel of John reflects Jesus as the Son of God [John 1:1/John 3:16]. Therefore, in this first book, there is an emphasis on the number four. Strangely enough, the fourth book in the Old Testament is called Numbers.
After the Gospels comes the Acts of the Apostles, and therefore, the second book is Acts of the Two Witnesses. Acts of the Apostles and the Gospel of Luke is a two-part work of Luke the Evangelist, and it continues where his Gospel concludes. The early chapters outline the ascension of Jesus into Heaven, and subsequently the coming of the Holy Spirit on the Day of Pentecost. He was a doctor who traveled with Paul the Apostle. It outlines the development of the early Christian church, and its spread into the Roman Empire as the message was rejected by the Jews.
Acts of the Two Witnesses is based on Revelation 11, it serves to dispel the confusion as to their identity. Further, it outlines all their messages. Most still believe that they are still to come on the scene and deliver a 1,260 day message and then be killed by the beast. However, what was discovered is that they have a total of 10 messages and 2 divine signals. Book 2 chronicles all their 10 messages, which provides a proper scheduling of End-Time events. Knowledge of the Two Witnesses is fundamental in understanding the times that we are now living in.
After Acts of the Apostles, there are 21 Epistles, 14 were written by the Apostle Paul, with the other seven written as follows: 1 by James, 2 by Peter, 3 by John and 1 by Jude. Epistles are only found in the New Testament. They were letters send by Paul, the inner circle apostles (Peter, Jame and John) and Jude, who was James’ brother [Jude 1:1]. This may have occurred as James was the first apostle to be martyred [Acts 12:1-2].
Luke–Acts is an attempt to answer a theological problem, namely how the Messiah of the Jews came to have an overwhelmingly non-Jewish church; the answer it provides is that the message of Christ was sent to the Gentiles because the Jews rejected it...called is website does not reflect the views of any specific denomination or church. I do not have any formal theological qualifications and I do not attend any church. One reason is that I find social contact a bit stressful. But I have always had a love and deep respect for the Bible and, being an analytical person, I like to do these in-depth studies. But I also tend to be very independent, and some of my conclusions make some people very angry. This year (2022) I will turn 70.
Timing
But should a person with no theological training attempt to teach others about the Bible? Although I have no formal Bible training, I have been studying the Bible for many decades and continue every day. I listen to mp3s sermons and discussions whenever I can. I download material from the internet and try to read and organize the thoughts carefully.
Perhaps the fact that I have no formal theological training is my greatest asset. After many years of listening to many views, I have come to the conclusion that very few people study their Bibles to form their own opinions. In my view, the vast majority of Christians are indoctrinated from childhood into a particular view of the Bible.
True Education
True education teaches people HOW to think for themselves, but the enemy has been very successful in converting our institutions of higher learning into places of indoctrination, teaching people WHAT to think.
Personal
I accountant, and worked as a financial manager in government in. I have a severely autistic daughter, but also a very gifted daughter that produced two delightful granddaughters; Anja and Mia.
Work Method
My work method is to select a subject, then download a selection of good material and mp3s from the internet from all schools of thought. I would listen to a speaker over and over until I feel I know where he or she departs from the truth. But, as already mentioned, I also spend much time on the Bible text itself. I spend much time trying to make my conclusions as easy as possible to understand, given my limited English vocabulary. It feels as if I sometimes rewrite articles 50 times before they are ready. But I enjoy what I do.
